Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has said that no humiliating behavior will be tolerated during the repatriation of Afghan refugees, emphasizing that special care must be taken for women, children, and the pateints.

He warned that any complaints of misconduct would result in immediate action against the responsible officials.

The chief minister was chairing a high-level meeting in Quetta on the repatriation of Afghan refugees and the law-and-order situation in Qila Abdullah. Additional Chief Secretary Home Hamza Shafqaat briefed the meeting on the progress of the repatriation process and the security situation.

The provincial Home Department informed the meeting that Balochistan was fully implementing the federal government’s policy on Afghan repatriation and was in constant coordination with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).

CM Bugti stressed that the dignity of all individuals must be safeguarded, adding that complete cooperation and assistance would be provided during the process. He further directed that female security personnel be hired on a temporary basis to facilitate women during the repatriation.

Regarding law and order, the chief minister said that the elimination of criminal elements in Qila Abdullah must be ensured without exception, regardless of jurisdiction between Levies and police areas. “No leniency will be given to criminals, and the government of Balochistan will utilize all resources to restore peace,” he said.

He assigned special tasks to divisional and district officers in Qila Abdullah for restoring law and order and directed that detailed progress reports be submitted to the Chief Minister’s Secretariat on a daily basis.

The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Balochistan, Additional Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary, Inspector General of Police, Director General Levies, and Commissioner Quetta Division. Moreover, the DIG Zhob, Deputy Commissioner, and DPO Qila Abdullah, as well as officials from Chaman, participated via video link.
