Railways Minister Hanif Abbasi has described the recent attack on the Jaffar Express as a well planned act of foreign conspiracy.
The minister reiterated that terrorism remains a challenge for Pakistan and emphasized the unified stance of global powers, including China and the U.S., in combating such threats.
Abbasi confirmed the rescue of over 104 passengers from the train, with ongoing efforts to evacuate more safely. While refraining from sharing specific details about the ongoing rescue operation, he assured that railway staff and rescue teams are working actively at the site with sufficient resources and support, including a rescue train on standby.
The incident was also linked to wider conspiracies involving neighboring regions, with Abbasi noting that Pakistan’s security forces are fully equipped and committed to responding effectively. He paid tribute to the sacrifices made by security personnel in the fight against terrorism.
The minister urged national unity, calling on citizens to stand firmly behind the armed forces and security institutions.
