A latest survey conducted by Gallup Pakistan has revealed strong public backing for the government’s ceasefire initiatives, highlighting a nationwide desire for peace and stability.

According to the survey findings, 93% of Pakistanis support the government’s efforts to achieve a ceasefire, reflecting widespread approval of diplomatic and mediation strategies.

The survey, conducted on April 8 and 9, further shows that 80% of respondents remain hopeful about peace, indicating a positive public outlook despite regional tensions.

Awareness of the government’s role is also significant. Around 82% of citizens said they are aware of Pakistan’s ceasefire efforts, while 46% reported hearing about a potential “major deal” in progress.

The data also underscores strong endorsement of Pakistan’s mediation role on the global stage. 93% of respondents supported Pakistan’s role as a mediator, with 72% expressing strong support for these efforts. Only a small minority opposed or preferred avoiding mediation altogether.

In terms of future expectations, 80% of respondents believe that a ceasefire will lead to peace, and among them, 44% are highly optimistic about a peaceful outcome.

The findings reflect a clear public consensus in favour of diplomatic engagement and conflict resolution, positioning Pakistan’s ceasefire efforts as both widely recognised and strongly supported by its citizens.
