18 terrorists killed in Balochistan during two intelligence-based operations (IBOs) conducted in Quetta and Kech districts, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced on Thursday.
The ISPR said the militants were part of Fitna al-Hindustan, a proxy network allegedly backed by India to fuel instability in the country.
Security forces first carried out an operation in the Chiltan mountain range of Quetta, where 14 terrorists were eliminated after an intense exchange of fire.
In a separate IBO in Buleda, Kech district, four more militants were neutralised, and their hideout was busted. Weapons, ammunition, and explosives were recovered, the statement added.
Sanitisation operations are underway to clear the area of any remaining militants. The ISPR reaffirmed that Pakistan’s counter-terrorism operations will continue until all foreign-sponsored threats are eliminated.
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised security forces, saying the nation stands united against terrorism and remains committed to ensuring peace across Pakistan.
